Hear Our Voices
My Role in this Project: UX/UI Design | Rapid prototyping | Project Coordination
Overview
HearOurVoices.io came together at break‑neck speed. Just two days after Hamas’s 7 October 2023 attack on Israel, five women who had never met, including me, formed an ad‑hoc task force to launch a multi‑page site that would host a trans‑Atlantic benefit concert. I led the team, recruiting two volunteer developers and a graphic designer, setting the design direction in Figma, and overseeing the build so pages loaded fast and stayed accessible on any device. Fourteen days later the site streamed the concert as it shifted between the Tel Aviv Museum of Art (no live audience allowed under wartime rules) and a Los Angeles venue, collecting donations and sharing survivor stories. With no physical crowd in Tel Aviv, the website became the concert’s main stage, allowing thousands to watch, give, and spread the word.
Impact
- Rapid response: concept to live site in 14 days under constant rocket alerts.
- Leadership & Collaboration: I assembled and directed a brand‑new team of developers and a graphic designer, turning strangers into an effective unit.
- Global reach: The site replaced a physical venue, making the concert and its message of solidarity accessible worldwide, driving donations and awareness when they were needed most.
